I have mentioned BabasChess before in the post about FICS. BabasChess is a free Internet Chess Client for Windows. It combines ease of use with powerful features for advanced users; integrates a fast and customizable playing environment with a powerful PGN viewer/editor, chess engines support for analyzing positions and amusing chat features.

BabasChess supports many different languages and runs on Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista. There is no Linux version, but it can run under Wine, with emoticons disabled.

BabasChess only works with FICS (Free Internet Chess Server), so you are not able to use it to connect to the Internet Chess Club.
